Christy Crandall grew up in beautiful Southern Indiana, enjoying exploring and observing nature from an early age. She graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington graduating with a BS in Geology and Environmental Studies in 1984. Upon graduation, she went to work as a hydrologist for both Everglades National Park, the National Weather Service, and the USDA Forest Service in Colorado.

She graduated with a Master of Science in Watershed Sciences. Following graduation, she took a position with the US Geological Service in Tallahassee, Florida as a hydrologist. She led various projects including evaluating Water Quality and land use, groundwater and surface-water flow and transport modeling, and other water resources studies for the USGS Water Resources Division. In 2016, She became a Research Associate for the Water Resources Center at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. She received her Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Florida A&M University in 2021.

Her dissertation was titled “Identifying areas for basal area reduction to maximize water yields in pine forests of the Northern Gulf Coast, US”. Currently Ms. Crandall serves as Senior Science Advisor for Conservation Concepts LLC. Her goals are to work to preserve and protect the wildlands, wetlands, and critical habitat areas left wherever needed.
